Neural, endocrine, and physiological mechanisms of interpretation and memory

Sava-Segal examines how physiological and affective states shape cognition, using stress as a model for understanding how changes in internal state alter the way experiences are processed and remembered. Her research integrates neural, autonomic, and neuroendocrine measures to capture these processes across timescales. She works with Professors Elizabeth Goldfarb (Psychiatry) and Wendy Berry Mendes (Psychology).

Biography

Sava-Segal joined Yale in 2026 from Dartmouth College, where she earned her PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience in the Functional Imaging and Naturalistic Neuroimaging Lab, advised by Emily Finn. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago.
